Activities That Bond True Friendships

Activities That Bond True Friendships

In order to really invest in and disciple the kids we serve, our staff is committed to spending time with kids from the state group homes outside of our weekly planned programs. Doing activities together that aren’t part of the normal routine can be a great way to bond with the kids, get to know them on a deeper level, and generate trust and true friendships. This, in turn, allows us to speak truths in their lives and gives us more opportunities to show them God’s love.

One recent example of this is when one of our Follow-up staff members went to help kids from one of the group homes we work with in Mures County, to harvest corn in early October. He enjoyed helping and serving the kids he loves with their farm work. Even if the work was hard and monotonous, it was a day filled with love and laughter. Furthermore, it was another way to let the kids know they are loved and cared for, not just by our staff but by their Heavenly Father.

Jesus says in Luke 10:12, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” As the staff was literally harvesting corn with the kids, he was also being obedient to the Lord’s commandment to be a spiritual harvester. Thank you for supporting Livada and enabling us to invest in these kids throughout life’s highs and lows and even in the simple day-to-day tasks.
