“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these!” Mathew 19:14
For children who come from at risk environment it is so hard to accept and understand their own value and the fact that someone has done something for them, something so sacrificial as Jesus has done.
We try through every opportunity we get to talk to them about the fact that Jesus loves them, that their circumstances don’t define them.
This is the message we shared with the kids when the Providence team from Texas was here. We had the opportunity to actually take the kids to Targu Mures, taking them out of their village is always such a big adventure for them. We started our day at the Gym in Nazna where we played some games, learned a lesson “Jesus loves me” and a craft that pictured Jesus holding them.
After the craft we were able to take the children to the Zoo in Targu-Mures, which was the first time they’ve been to the Zoo in their lives. The kids enjoyed being loved by the team and our volunteers and we finished our adventure at KFC for a late lunch.
People often ask me if it’s worth doing what I do, and even though there are times when I feel discouraged too, I feel hopeful for the future, and the difference these young children will make in their community when they grow up.
Please continue to lift up in prayer the Prevention of Abandonment department.
