Week 4 of Summer Camps…Two More to Go
As week 4 finished up only 2 more weeks of camp remain! It has been a joy to spend bonding moments with the kids at camp weekly as we walk through our identity as a child of God and as a believer. It’s been encouraging to see God work in the hearts of staff, volunteers, interns, and kids as we dig into simple and complex truths that the Lord proclaims. God has created a diverse family among us that proclaims the restoration that is to come.
This past week we talked about the story of Moses and the burning bush, as well as his leadership of the Israelite’s out of slavery. We were taught and reminded that God calls the unqualified and broken to have a relationship with him and to serve Him in huge ways, and of The Lord’s power to redeem all brokenness. A lot of the kids were able to relate to the story of Moses and open up about the brokenness in their own lives. We were able to talk about The Lord’s power and desire to redeem everything and about His undying love, never ending grace, and perfect purpose for each of us. The kids enjoyed hearing a variety of testimonies from the American team (Grace Church) that joined us at camp this past week. God worked through the team’s vulnerability to soften hearts and speak truth to all that heard, and many identified with the struggles of others. Through this God created unity and a larger desire to seek the redemption of our own testimonies. We are all very excited as we reflect on all the Lord has done in the lives of the kids and people at camp, and are expectant of great things as the next 2 weeks unfold. Thank you for keeping us and our kids in prayer throughout this intense summer!
