Monika Leszai

Residential Care - Special Educator
Monika:
Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to work with orphaned children. In 2015, I had the opportunity to follow my dream when I was invited to volunteer at a family home of the Loc Foundation. After four months of volunteering almost every day with the children, I was offered a full-time position as an educator. Since then, almost nine years have passed, filled with changes and beautiful yet sometimes challenging events with these children. In the meantime, being passionate about what I do, I decided to pursue a Master's degree in Special Education. Perhaps the biggest blessing, however, was the training in TBRI—Trust-Based Relational Intervention—which has greatly helped me understand what it means to work with these children and the appropriate ways to help them. We appreciate Moni for her dedication to helping vulnerable children thrive. What started a decade ago as a simple volunteer job, either after or between working days for Moni, soon became a calling. This innovative, always determined woman made it her purpose to support every child she works with to reach his full potential. She has been a constant presence in the lives of our residential care children and has created strong attachments with them. Even now, as teenagers, our boys value her advice and follow her example. In the last few years, Moni has completed various qualifications and is now an excellent TBRI trainer as well as our lead organizer for therapeutic camps. May God bless you abundantly, Monika!
