As the new school year begins in Romania, joy, excitement, and purpose are filling the hearts of children and staff at LIvada Orphan Care. From creative Bible lessons to back-to-school smiles, this month has been full of reminders that every small act of love can change a child’s story.
“Aushusha” Program Brings the Bible to Life
The Aushusha program continues to bring joy to the community of Ogra, helping children discover God’s goodness through engaging, faith-filled activities.
A special lesson, “The Story of Moses in 5 Characters,” invited kids to explore themes of faith, trust, and God’s kindness through songs, prayers, and a hands-on craft inspired by the story. The laughter, creativity, and curiosity in the room were a beautiful reflection of the program’s purpose—to help children know that God is good and they are deeply loved.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who supports this life-giving ministry, making moments like these possible for children who need encouragement and hope.

The first day of school is always special—but for the children cared for by Fundația LOC, it’s more than just a new academic year. It’s a fresh start, full of possibilities and confidence in who they are becoming.
Backpacks were packed, smiles were wide, and hearts were full of anticipation as the children stepped into classrooms ready to learn and grow. For many, school is not only a place of education—it’s a safe space where dreams take shape, where they are seen, heard, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves.

We recently wrote to Rodica Maier, the Executive Director of the Livada Orphan Care Foundation (Fundatia LOC) in Romania, and asked her the question, “What’s a recent success story of a child or teen that encouraged you to keep going in this work?”
We knew you’d love to see her answer, in the form of a story of hope and healing:
A 10 years old boy from our Orphan outreach programs had the most challenging behaviour. It was difficult to get him involved in activities with others, as he was disturbing, jumping off the windows and often became aggressive. So, after our therapeutic camp last year Monika, inspired by TBRI mantra “See the need behind the behaviour If not you then who”, decided to have weekly one to one meetings with him and create a bond. They would walk, talk, play games, eat and get help with the homework that he will find challenging. Things didn’t run smoothly from the beginning, but with every meeting you could see the change in him and slowly he became a more self regulated boy that could enjoy activities with others.
This is why we keep going. This is why your support matters.

Summer Camp 2025
The joy of summer has officially arrived in Romania—and that means camp season is in full swing! Livada Orphan Care’s annual summer camp ministry is once again welcoming hundreds of orphans and at-risk children for a week they’ll never forget.
This summer, through the help of our dedicated Romanian staff and volunteers, dozens of kids will participate in a high-energy, Christ-centered camp experience filled with music, games, crafts, Bible teaching, and plenty of laughter. From Târgu Mureș to the surrounding villages, the message is clear: they are seen, known, and deeply loved by God.
Camp is more than just fun—it’s foundational. For many of these children, it’s the highlight of their year and a sacred space where hope takes root. Through relational ministry, memory verses, heartfelt worship, and meaningful small group conversations, we’re watching God move in powerful ways.
We’re thankful for every supporter who helps make this possible. Please keep our campers, counselors, translators, and mission teams in your prayers as we continue this beautiful journey of discipleship throughout the summer.

Spreading Hope at the NGO Fair
Livada Orphan Care joined dozens of nonprofits at a local NGO Fair in Romania to raise awareness and share our mission to care for orphans and at-risk children. Through personal conversations, outreach materials, and community connection, we had the chance to inspire hope and highlight the ongoing needs of vulnerable youth in Romania.
Another Birthday Made Special
Happy birthday, Sergiu! 
The gifts were equal to the excitement: a cajon (percussion drum) and a pair of sneakers he had wanted for a long time 
Sergiu was also the “chef confectioner” – he helped decorate the cake and was very proud of the result!
